Island Trees School District Proposes 2006-07 Budget
On May 16, Long Island residents will head to the polls to pass or reject their school district's proposed budget. The district is asking its residents to approve a 2006-2007 budget that would increase the tax levy 4.75 percent, according to the budget newsletter currently being mailed to residents.

Island Trees Athletics
The Varsity Baseball Club upped its overall record to 5-1 with a 1-0 victory over Roslyn. This game was for the baseball purist. It featured good defense and an outstanding pitchers' duel between Roslyn All-County pitcher Mike Strachtman and Island Trees own Matt Gelormino. Gelormino was outstanding, tossing a complete game 2-hitter with 1 walk allowed and 6 strikeouts.
