The Lady Dragons are beginning the season in great shape. Led by five seniors, this talented group features two returning All County players, left fielder Jessica Constantine and catcher Kara Darcy, followed by a great glove at first base, Christine Vermilye and two Hoover vacuum gloves in second-basemen Tara McBride and shortstop Janine Landini, also award winners.

At third base is Shannon Angher holding the hot corner solidly. In centerfield is Brittany McBride, who is solid both defensively and with a bat in her hands. Playing right field is Maggie McNamara, who has had a timely hitting in key situations. The pitching staff is led by All Conference pitcher Christine Davis, who has dominated her games be it pitching, a great bunt or even a base hit. Behind her is Tara Lanigan, who has had 10 strike outs in her first varsity start.

The Lady Dragons recently added another win in a thrilling bottom of the seventh 1-0 victory over the Syosset Braves, to post a non-league record of 4-1. If Coach Sherman and Coach Porter can keep these Dragons at flying level, breathing fire and pushing the right buttons, they can do some damage as a staff and team.
