Sports
It was the first tournament of the season. It was cold and windy. Between the weather and the long layoff, we did not shoot very well. We had 16 golfers today and only nine pars between them and three men got two pars. Ted Marakawa won overall low and he was the only man to shoot under his handicap. In spite of the cold weather, I think that we were all glad to be out there again and we are looking forward to warmer weather and better scores.
Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 12 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 13 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.
Note: Because of the rapid growth of our club this year, they regret that they must limit their membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, you will be accepted, but after that you will be on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
