  • News: Levittown Library Board to Hold Budget Meeting March 1

    The Levittown Library Board of Trustees will hold an open public meeting on the proposed 2006/2007 library budget on Wednesday, March 1 at 8 p.m. in the Community Room. The library budget vote and election of library trustee is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4. Voter registration is available in the district clerk's office at Levittown Memorial Education Center Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on any school day. Registration must take place at least seven days before the vote. The proposed budget will be mailed to Levittown School District residents in March.   • Sports: Island Trees Athletics

    The Island Trees Girls' Basketball team clinched the Conference 4 title by defeating North Shore 42-34. Sophomore Valerie Ahrens and seniors Samantha Modik and Sarah Hess led the stifling defense which held North Shore 20 points below their season average. Freshman Meghan Biondolillo and senior Katie Tolan led the offense as they have all season. Other members of the conference championship team include seniors Lauren Mason and Dominique Witteck, juniors Beth Hughes, Meaghan Davis, Catie Hollett and Jamie Ruiz and sophomores Angelika Paskins, Alysha Ciaramitaro and Kristen Walsh. With wins over North Shore and Sewanhaka, the Lady Dawgs are currently 16-0 and are the lone remaining undefeated team on Long Island.
