Levittown Kiwanians joined together once again on Dec. 17 to help Santa wrap some gifts for children in the community. Members of the Kiwanis club helped members of the Yours Ours Mine Community Center Board wrap gifts for children in the YOM day care program.
This coming year, the Levittown Kiwanis Club will host its 30th Annual Brotherhood/Sisterhood Luncheon on Feb. 16 from noon to 2 p.m. at Domenico's Restaurant. The purpose of the luncheon is to pay special tribute to the local clergy. Guests are welcome. The cost for non-clergy members is $24. For more information please contact Steve Ellis at 796-0400.
Terrific Kids is a program that provides schools with a tool to reward students for special achievements that may otherwise go unnoticed. The Levittown Kiwanis Club has scheduled the following Terrific Kids Programs in each of the elementary and middle schools in the Levittown and Island Trees Districts for the upcoming month: Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 9:15 a.m. at Wisdom Lane Middle School, Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 9:10 a.m. at Gardiners Avenue School, Monday Jan. 23 at 2:25 p.m. at East Broadway School, Wednesday Feb. 1 at 9:15 a.m. at Wisdom Lane Middle School, Monday, Feb. 6 at 9:30 a.m. at Summit Lane School, Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 2:15 p.m. at Northside School, Thursday, Feb. 9 at 9:30 a.m. at Lee Road School and Friday Feb. 10 at 1:15 p.m. at Abbey Lane School.
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time-locally, through Kiwanis Club-sponsored activities and programs and globally through the Kiwanis International Worldwide Service Project and other worldwide initiatives. Kiwanis members are service-minded men and women united in their commitment to and compassion for others.
The Levittown Kiwanis Club is a very active part of the local community. Levittown Kiwanis hosts food drives, sends underprivileged children to camp, gives scholarships, sponsors community events and more. If you are interested in learning more about this philanthropic organization and the good works the club does come to a meeting. Guests are welcome to attend.
