Bentivegna, 48, is a lifelong Levittown resident seeking his second term. After joining the Levittown Fire Department, Engine 7 in 1986 Bentivegna served as a lieutenant from 1997-1998 and captain from 1999-2000. He was first elected to his current commissioner position for the 2001-2005 term.
Bentivegna and his wife, Nancy Lee have three children and one grandchild.
The polls will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. Levittown residents can vote at Levittown Fire Department Headquarters, located at 120 Gardiners Ave. in Levittown. For more information voters can call 731-5800.
An election for the position of Fire Commissioner of the Wantagh Fire District will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Polls will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. This year, Commissioner Donald E. Snyder, a 54-year Wantagh resident, is seeking his ninth term in his bid for re-election. Snyder is running unopposed; however, he still is seeking public support for this five-year position.

Snyder joined the Wantagh Fire Department, Dec. 21, 1951 and has been active ever since, serving with Engine 2 and Engine 4. He was elected lieutenant and captain of Engine 4 and served as assistant chief and chief for two years. He is a charter member of Company 2.
In 1966 Snyder was elected fire commissioner and has held this position since.
In addition, Snyder is an active member of the Levittown Presbyterian Church, having served as an elder and deacon. He is presently on the House and Grounds Committee and is a member of the Ushers Association.
Voting will take place in all district firehouses. Station 1 (Headquarters) is located at 3470 Park Avenue, Wantagh, Station 2 is located at 844 Wantagh Avenue, Levittown, Station 3 is located at 2529 Neptune Avenue, Seaford, Station 4 is located at 1191 Alken Avenue, Seaford and Station 5 is located at 2985 Merrick Road, Wantagh.
