Often dynamic speakers are selected to speak at Kiwanis Club meetings on a variety of topics. At the Club's Nov. 10 meeting, Judge Joseph Spinola spoke to the members about his role as a Supreme Court Judge in the matrimonial section of the Nassau County Courts. Judge Spinola, who is a lifelong resident of East Meadow, was elected in November 2003 for a 14-year term. He spoke about many of the custody issues and divisions of assets that he deals with and entertained the club members with amusing stories about things that have occurred in his courtroom. His advise to the members was, "Don't get divorced!"

On Nov. 17, the club will hear from Personal injury attorney David Pinkus. On Dec. 8 Harriet Steinburg will provide the club with updated Medicare and Medicaid information.

Terrific Kids is a program that provides schools with a tool to reward students for special achievements that may otherwise go unnoticed. The Levittown Kiwanis Club has scheduled the following Terrific Kids Programs in each of the elementary and middle schools in the Levittown and Island Trees Districts for the upcoming months: Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. at Lee Road School; Monday, Nov. 21 at 2:25 p.m. at East Broadway School; Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 2:15 p.m. at Northside School; Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 9:15 a.m. at Wisdom Lane Middle School; Friday, Dec. 15 at 1:15 p.m. at Abbey Lane School.

On Friday, Dec. 16, the Levittown Kiwanis Club will host its Annual Holiday Party for students in the Summit Lane DLC Program. This is a special event that is as enjoyable for the Kiwanis members who get to see the joy on the children's faces as it is for the children who each receive a present from Santa.
