The Island Trees Varsity Bulldogs dominated the Roslyn Bulldogs 31-8. A crushing performance by the defense and a steamroller performance by the offense led the "real" Bulldogs to victory. Joe Ciaravino ran for 305 yards - a school record! The final conference game will be at home vs. Mineola.

The Island Trees JV Football team picked up a good win against Roslyn. The Bulldogs were able to play great despite cold weather and managed to defeat Roslyn 49-34. The Bulldogs high powered offense was led by Arton Lekaj, who amassed 162 yards on only 6 runs for 2 TDs and caught a 67-yard screen pass from Frankie Baglivo. Another big part of the Bulldogs offense was QB Frankie Baglivo, who ran for 124 yards on 8 carries and had 2 TDs. Nik Butrico also had 35 rushing yards and a 30-yard catch. After a great TD drive just before the first half ended, Rob Owens had a great catch in triple coverage for the 2 point conversion, putting the Bulldogs up 35-7 going into the half. The Bulldogs offense line of Ed Noblesala, Mike Breihof, Brian Smith, Justin Burger and Pete Molino opened great holes for the runners and gave Frankie plenty of time to throw. The Bulldogs defense, led by Pete Molino, with 7 tackles and 3 assists and Frankie Baglivo with 2 tackles and 3 interceptions, had a great day against Roslyn with many big stops and turnovers. Jesse Matarese had a clutch sack in the 4th quarter which stopped any possibility of a comeback. This win should add to the JV team's great season and should give them a lot of momentum as they head to Mineola to hopefully end their fantastic season on a high note.

The JV volleyball team took on Plainedge and played an outstanding game. The girls bounced back after difficult losses and gave it their all. Brianne Lopez and Heather Mitchell stepped it up, setting Danielle Doller and Lisa Barenzano for 9 kills. Andrea Fragoletti, Margaret Martinez, Laura Benvenuto and Lauren Maniace contributed with great serves and defensive plays. Thank you to the entire team for giving it your all.

The 8th grade girls soccer team finished off its season with an intense victory over a solid Bethpage team 1-0. The lone goal for the match was scored in the 9th minute by Jessica Pierre-Tijero (her 2nd goal of the season). It was a great defensive effort by captains Anne Badolato, Jackie Kupfer and Jenna Gallante. Also with solid performances were Dana Collelouri, Alana Caffrey, Angela Wroblewski and Amanda Weissman. The player of the contest was goalie Sylvana Rivera, making several diving stops and recording 12 saves for her second shutout of the season.

Congratulations to the girls 7th grade soccer team on their 4-1 win over Plainview. Goals were scored by Erin Carey, Kaitlyn Interlandi, Dominique Nacovsky and Lisa Indelicato. The Lady Dogs dominated the game both offensively and defensively and should be proud of their accomplishments.
