The Levittown Fire Department held a Fire Prevention Poster Contest for all children in kindergarten through third grade within the fire district. Grades fourth through eighth participated in the Fire Prevention Essay Contest.

The schools selected the best for each grade and then all of these entries were used to select the overall winners.

The winners included Kara Burke, third grade Northside School; Katherine Birmingham, second grade Northside School; Jessica Petry, first grade Sparke School; Lia Esposito, kindergarten Stokes School; Miranda Pedroza, fourth grade Abbey Lane School; Matt Wilson, fifth grade Summit Lane School; Stephen Humenesky, sixth grade Wisdom Lane Middle School; Joel Bearman Levittown Fire Department; Chief Mark Janovsky Levittown Fire Department; Deanna Lino, seventh grade Island Trees Middle School, George Anderson Levittown Fire Department. Samantha Restramo, eighth grade Island Trees Middle School, was not present.

All of the children were awarded a certificate, medal, smoke detector and a Toys R Us gift card. We wish to thank all of the children who participated and the schools for their hard work selecting the winners.
