The Nassau County Veterans Monument Fund, Inc. has announced the dedication of the Vietnam Monument at noon on Sunday, Nov. 6 at Veterans Plaza, in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, (use parking lot 6).

Sixteen years in the planning, $166,000 in cost, thousands of hours of volunteer labor this 12-foot sculpture will commemorate the 58, 000 who died, the 1,800 who are still missing, and the 9,000,000 who served during the Vietnam era.

All veterans are invited to come and help us unveil this beautiful and moving monument. Rain or shine on Nov. 6 will mean "Welcome Home" to Nassau County's 25,000 Vietnam Veterans.

"We fought to honor the legacy handed to us by our fathers who fought in World War II and Korea. We honor and respect the veterans who followed us and who are fighting for us today. We would be honored if you join us on November 6, 2005 at Noon as we dedicate our monument." Nick Graziano, chairman Monument Fund.
