The Varsity Football team lost a physical battle with cross-town rival, Division Avenue. The Dogs came fighting back in the second half to score twice. A great run by Joe Ciaravino and an interception return for a touchdown by Matt Valinoti made the game a 14-12 heartbreaker. The Dogs left it all on the field.

The Girls' Varsity Soccer team started their season knowing they were about to play the toughest teams in Nassau County. 1. Massapequa - last year undefeated in Conference I, Nassau County AA champs, Long Island AA champs, state semi-finalists in AA. 2. South Side - undefeated in Conference I, Nassau County A champs (have not lost a playoff game since 1993), Long Island A champs, state champs Class A. 3. Farmingdale - county semi finalists AA. 4. Garden City - county semi-finalists A. 5. Baldwin and East Meadow - quarter finalists. Despite losing five of their six conference games, the Lady Dawgs have gained the respect of all the coaches they have played against. Most of the games were very close through the end. With the exception of the Garden City loss (4-0 in the rain with top defenders Sarah Burleson and Ashley Moore out hurt), the scores were 3-0 Massapequa, 2-1 South Side, 1-0 East Meadow, 2-1 Farmingdale and a 2-1 win over Baldwin. Captains Kate Moore, Meghan Sguigna and Michelle Topel have kept cohesion on the team with their leadership and enthusiasm. Goalie Jen Macaro has been no less than spectacular in the net. The defense has been playing tough, making it difficult for the opposition to score. In the win over Baldwin, Meghan Sguigna scored twice, with an assist by Angelina DeLardi. With their first conference win under their belt, Coaches Goldberg and Schneider are confident the Lady Dawgs will remain consistent and will be a team to be reckoned with in the playoffs.

The Girls' JV Soccer team added two more wins to their record by defeating Garden City 2-0 and Baldwin 7-0. Goals were scored in the Garden City game by Meghan Biondolillo and Mary Condela. Great defensive playing by Marissa Sciacca and Ashley Engel helped give Island Trees the shut-out. In the Baldwin game goals were scored by Stephanie Fabis, Nichole Coradini and Meghan Biondolillo. Briana Meehan and Alison Gronenthal both had two goals apiece.

The Boys' Varsity Soccer team continued its season with a tie against League 1 rival Cold Spring Harbor 0-0. The Bulldogs played excellent all game having many chances to score that they didn't convert. The defense, led by Giovanni Oliveri and Dimitri Rouskas, played strong all day and kept Cold Spring Harbor from having any serious scoring chances. Excellent goaltending was played by Mike Annarella, Matt Wierzbicki and Kyle Riegel as the three combined together to shut Cold Spring Harbor out. The Bulldogs continued their quest for an undefeated league season with a hard fought tie with league leaders Floral Park. The Dawgs took the early lead with a goal from forward Matt Brownstone, it was his fourth goal of the season. Floral Park turned up the heat attacking in numbers trying to tie the score. Kyle Riegel made many key saves during this Floral Park run. Eventually Floral Park was able to knock in a goal off a rebound. The Bulldogs responded with determined play and desire. Floral Park's goalkeeper made several key saves in the last 20 minutes to secure the tie for Floral Park. Key players for the Bulldogs in this game were Matt D'Albenzio, Dimitri Rouskas, John Pascale, Byron Foong, Matt Brownstone, Brian Balvin and Giovanni Oliveri.

The JV Volleyball team made easy work of Uniondale by winning in three straight games. Margaret Martinez led the team with nine aces. Danielle Doller, Heather Mitchell and Madlyn Brandstetter were set up by Jillian Foster, Brianne Lopez and Sue Yao for 12 kills. The Lady Bulldogs continued their hot streak by defeating Valley Stream Central three games to none. The girls showed a total team effort with dominating serves. Lauren Maniace, Jill Foster, Brianne Lopez, Margaret Martinez and Danielle Doller had a combined 18 aces in three games. The win has improved their record to 4 and 2.
