It has been three years since our grandson Joshua was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. Joshua will be 6 this year and should be starting the first grade, but he is unable to attend a normal class setting. This year he will be put in a "special" class of six children (all autistic). Although we are thankful for the progress Josh has made in the last three years, we still never give up hope for a cure or better treatments. Only through scientific research will more effective therapies for autism be developed and causing factors be defeated.

There are many ways you can help, such as sponsoring us or come out and walk with us. We realize there are many charities that need attention, but any contribution large or small will be appreciated and make a difference!

This year's walk will be on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Jones Beach, Field 5 at 9:30 a.m. If you would like to walk, contact me so I can register you. Our team name is "Walking for Josh." All contributions are tax deductible. Please make checks payable to National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR).
