Local Residents Named in Enterprise Corruption, Gambling Indictment
Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon and Nassau County Police Commissioner James H. Lawrence recently announced the end of a two-year investigation by the Electronics Investigations Bureau, the District Attorney's Squad, the Arson/Bomb Squad, the Electronic Squad and the Narcotics/Vice Squad of the Nassau County Police Department into a major overseas bookmaking operation. As a result of this investigation the Nassau County District Attorney's Office has indicted five people for Enterprise Corruption and numerous Gambling charges.

LI Comics Join Forces to Stand Up for Hurricane Victims
Laughter has been called the best medicine. With that in mind, Long Island veteran comics, Bob Nelson and Paul Bond will be joined by several other popular local comedians at "Stand Up for the Victims of Hurricane Katrina," two fund-raisers scheduled for the evenings of Wednesday, September 21 and Thursday September 22 at two of the Island's top comedy clubs. The proceeds from both benefits will be donated to The Salvation Army to be earmarked for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Nassau County PAL Levittown Unit Announces Fall Program Registration
Bowling: Ages 5 and up - COED - Divisions - Bumpers, Bantams, Juniors and Seniors. Fee: $35 plus weekly bowling fees: Bumpers and Bantams $6.50 per week, Juniors and Seniors $8.50 per week. Teen Scholarship Program $40 + Weekly bowling fees of $10. Includes: Free shoes, bowling shirt, seasonal parties and trophy/medals. Levittown Loves the Red Cross Swim-A-Cross
This year's Red Cross Swim-A-Cross theme was "Forever Young." The Red Cross itself honored the late Renata Maimone of Bayville for her years of support to the ARC/Nassau. She was their image of eternal youth and "Forever Young." They encouraged all of the participants to swim in honor of the person in their life who is "Forever Young."
