The Levittown Athletic Club (LAC) Girls Softball League is starting travel teams for the 2006 season. LAC is associated with the Babe Ruth League and they have girls from Levittown, Bethpage, Hicksville, East Meadow, Bellmore, Farmingdale, Seaford, Wantagh and Massapequa playing in their league.

The travel teams will be 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U. Girls that play on these travel teams will also need to register in their regular season, which runs April through June, and must attend a minimum of 50 percent of their games; as this is a Babe Ruth rule.

They will be holding tryouts for all of the Travel Teams on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 at Azalea Road Field, near Periwinkle Road. 14U tryouts will be from 9-11 a.m.; 10U and 16U will be from 11-1PM and the 12U from 3-5 p.m. Girls should wear sneakers or plastic cleats and bring their gloves and bats. There is no fee for trying out.
