It was another great day for golf, low humidity, low temperatures and a slight, cool breeze. (Two tournaments in a row.) The scores were pretty good too. We had 38 golfers and we totaled 55 pars. Four each by Steve Thompson, Pete Guerra, Jim Green, Jerry Skaee and Frank Larke. But best of all was 8 pars by Dave Malle. He pared all the holes except the eighth, which he bogied. He shot a gross score of 31 (one over par for the course) and he won overall low with a net score of 25. Two other men (Frank Larke and Kent Schreiber) also had a net score of 25 but Dave pared the first hole and they did not, so Dave wins the trophy. Not to be forgotten is Pete Guerra. He beat John Wengler in the final round of the match play tournament, 4 to 1.

The next tournament will be on Thursday, Sept. 15. They will also have a make-up tournament on Sept. 22. This will be a scramble tournament.

Competition on the nine hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.

Note: Because of the rapid growth of the club this year, it regrets that it must limit its membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, it will accept you, but after that it will have to put you on a waiting list. For more information call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
