The Levittown Kiwanis Club participated in the Long Island South Central Division of Kiwanis' Annual Mike Lozito Softball Game at MacLaren Field on Friday, Aug. 26. Each year the division plays the Peninsula Division of Kiwanis in the game, which is named for Levittown Charter Kiwanian Mike Lozito, who during his lifetime was a powerful force in Long Island Kiwanis.
This year, the Peninsula Division ran scared and chose not to show up to compete. That did not stop the Long Island South Central Division, which split up into two teams. Levittown Kiwanians Gary Crozier, Peter Ray, Kevin Regan and Gary Hudes put forth valiant efforts for their respective teams. Many other Levittown Kiwanians were on hand, along with Mike's widow, Carol Lozito, to cheer on the players. Everyone had a fantastic time and many laughs despite the change in plans.
