Local Officials Present Check for Nassau County Vietnam Memorial
Nassau County Legislators Dave Mejias and Dennis Dunne were pleased to join Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi and fellow Nassau Legislators recently to present a check for $140,000 toward the construction of the Nassau County Vietnam Memorial to be built at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. The Vietnam Memorial was designed by Shannon Diamondstein, Hui Min Chin and Joan Benefiel and depicts two clasped hands holding wind chimes in the shape of dogtags. The sculpture will also include etched scenes of soldiers and their equipment that will be derived from actual photographs taken by veterans during that time.

Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League
Today was a great day for golf, low humidity, low temperatures and a slight, cool breeze. We had 42 men today and we totaled 44 pars and 1 birdie. Jim Greene again got 4 pars and Mike Guerriero got 3 pars and a birdie on the par 3, 150-yard 3rd hole. Today was the fourth round of the match play tournament and we have two survivors for the championship round. They are Pete Guerra and John Wengler.
