The Homicide Squad of the Nassau County Police Department reported the details of a fatal accident that occurred on Monday, Aug. 1 at 9:01 p.m. in Levittown.

According to detectives, Marilyn Levine, 63, of Levittown, was driving a 1997 Saturn, southbound on Jerusalem Avenue, just south of Corncrib Lane in Levittown when the deceased, Bernard Palmieri, 60, of Massapequa, attempted to cross Jerusalem Avenue, and was struck by the vehicle.

Palmieri was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he was pronounced dead at 10:11 p.m. Levine and her daughter Jennifer, 30, a passenger in the car, were also transported to NUMC for minor injuries and evaluation.

The vehicle was impounded for safety tests and police said no charges or summonses have been filed against the driver.
