The Levittown Kiwanis presents scholarships to a graduate from each of the four local high schools each year. This year's scholarship recipient from Island Trees High School is Fred Koromi. Fred was the president of the Island Trees High School Key Club this past year. He will be attending SUNY Platsburg in the fall. Fred was joined by his family at the July 28th Kiwanis Club meeting where he was presented with his scholarship.
Please save all your soda/drink flip top tabs and all your General Mills box tops and Campbell Soup labels and turn them in to the Levittown Kiwanis Club at one of our meetings. The box tops and soup labels go to St. Jude's Ranch for Children. When St. Jude's reaches 300,000 box tops and soup labels they are able to redeem them for a Chrysler Caravan. The soda tabs are now being donated to Mercy Hospital.
The Levittown Kiwanis Club is a very active part of the Levittown community. If you are interested in learning more about this philanthropic organization and the good works the club does come to a meeting. Guests are welcome to attend. Levittown Kiwanis meets on Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. at: La Focaccia Restaurant, 70 East Village Green, Levittown, NY 11756. Telephone: 796-4461.
Please note that during August the club will only meet Aug. 11 and Aug. 25. The club will resume its regular weekly meeting schedule in September.
