Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilman Gary Hudes have announced that a road improvement project for Miller Place will commence in July and will near completion in the fall. The enhancements will provide increased safety for area residents and beautify the neigborhood.
In a continued effort to improve Hempstead Town's infrastructure, the project includes the construction of new curbs, driveway aprons, installation of pedestrian access ramps at all intersections, new asphalt pavement and the restoration of disturbed grass areas.
"Keeping town roads in good repair reduces maintenance costs," commented Murray. "It's exciting when government can upgrade the infrastructure and simultaneously realize a genuine reduction in maintenance costs."
"During the construction process, the town and its contractor take all possible measures to limit the inconvenience to residents," commented Hudes. "Area residents will be very pleased with how these improvements enhance the curbside appeal of their homes."
"Continuing to invest in community upgrades is another way the Town of Hempstead is improving the quality of life for residents," concluded Murray.
