Improvements Planned for Levittown Road
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilman Gary Hudes have announced that a road improvement project for Miller Place will commence in July and will near completion in the fall. The enhancements will provide increased safety for area residents and beautify the neigborhood.

100 MPH Speed Contest Injures Wantagh Couple
Detectives reported that two vehicles entered into a speed contest northbound on Seamans Neck Road. The two vehicles - a 2002 Nissan Altima, operated by Daniel Toscano, 18, and a 2003 Honda Accord operated by Clint Georges, 20, both of Elmont, raced at an excessive speed (approximately 100 miles an hour) when Georges lost control of the Honda and spun sideways and collided head on into a 1998 Dodge Caravan operated by John Smith, 50, of Wantagh. The Honda continued on and struck a parked vehicle and a house at 7 Seamans Neck Road and then two vehicles and a fence at 5 Seamans Neck Road.

LSA to Hold Swim-A-Thon
The Levittown Swimming Association (LSA) is in the midst of celebrating its 50th Anniversary (1955 - 2005) and has been holding many special events throughout the summer to commensurate this special year.

LAC's 10U Girls Win Metro New York State Championship
The Levittown Athletic Club 10 & Under Girls Softball Team went undefeated to win the Metro New York State Championship on July 22. The team had to wait an extra five days to play the final game due to the weather delaying the loser's bracket in their double elimination tournament held in Staten Island.
