On July 15, at the Reorganization Meeting of the Island Trees Board of Education, Ken Rochon and Patricia Mahon, who won board seats in the election this past May, were officially sworn in to begin their terms as board members. Bob Condela, who won re-election to the board, was also sworn in. David Rubin, attorney for the board, administered the oath of office. They were elected for three-year terms.

The Island Trees Board of Education also re-appointed Robert Condela as president for the 2005-2006 school year. Carl Bonsignore was re-appointed vice president.

The board was very pleased that the budget was passed by a wide margin showing strong support by the community. The new budget will enable the district to maintain the high quality educational programs offered to our students.

The members of the board look forward to working closely with the district administrators, staff and parents to continue to offer the best educational programs possible while still trying to keep the school taxes as low as possible.
