Levittown BOE Multi-Year School Budget Process Hailed by NYSSBA
To Be Included in Association's Best Practices Publication --
Levittown Board of Education members convened for their organizational meeting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, at the Levittown Memorial Education Center. The seven member board and support staff were nominated and unanimously installed for the 2005-2006 school year.

Community Helps Wantagh Widow Cope with Mounting Medical Bills
Newlyweds Gregory and Madeline Polcer purchased a handyman special in Wantagh three-and-a-half years ago. With the little money leftover after buying the house, they went through fertility treatments in order to have children. Now, with two children, Madeline is widowed after her husband quickly lost a battle against cancer.

LAC Hosts Babe Ruth Metro NY Tournament
The Levittown Athletic Club's 12 & Under Girls Softball Babe Ruth Metro New York Tournament was held over the weekend of July 8-11. The first game was rained out on Friday evening, but with a lot of help from the coaches and parents, the fields were playable Saturday morning. This was a double elimination tournament with eight games being played on Saturday with teams from Levittown, Glen Cove, Merrick, Westerliegh (Staten Island), Pelham Bay (Bronx), Tuckahoe (Westchester) and HBQVB (Queens).

Levittown Athlete Wins Wheelchair Division in Vytra Run
Sixteen-year-old Lauren Konetsky of Levittown scored as the winner of the Wheelchair Division of the 22nd annual Vytra Long Island Women's 5 Kilometer Run, held on the roads of Farmingdale on Saturday, July 9.
