Levittown Community Council is inviting all in the community to celebrate the eighth Annual Lazy Days Picnic and Bake Off on Saturday, July 16 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Jerusalem Avenue Pool at the East Village Green.

This event, a day of free fun and entertainment for residents of Levittown and its surrounding communities, provides children and adults with activities, entertainment and an opportunity to relax and mingle with friends, family and neighbors. A petting zoo and pony rides, face painting, basketball contests, crafts and games are the order of the day and the beautiful Jerusalem Avenue pool offers a respite from the summer heat.

What began during the 50th anniversary of Levittown has grown into one of the most popular summer events in the area.

In conjunction with the event, the Council sponsors an annual bake off contest. Anyone wishing to enter the bake off should bring their cake, cookies or pies or other baked creations to the picnic area at 2 p.m. Judging will take place at 3 p.m.

Families are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, picnic lunches and beverages or take advantage of the food available at stores at the East Village Green.

The Jerusalem Avenue pool and park is located on Jerusalem Avenue in Levittown, north of Hempstead Turnpike.

The Levittown Community Council is an association of community organizations and residents united to maintain pride and unity in the Levittown community. For information about the Lazy Days of Summer Picnic or about the Levittown Community Council, call 516-731-1999 or 735-5901.
