This month's Spotlight on Business is on Lois Cornibert, branch manager of Astoria Federal Savings Bank, at 3105 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown. Astoria Federal Savings Bank is a full service bank offering personal and business accounts, business money market accounts with high interest rates, S.B.A. loans, investment services, mortgage and insurance brokerage.
Lois has 35 years of banking experience and 18 years as the branch manager in Levittown. An important part of her duties as branch manager include working with the community and Lois does that with dedication and conviction. She received the company's Top Branch Manager award for 2004 based on the performance of the branch.
Lois' community activities include: Chamber of Commerce board member for 12 years; Chamber of Commerce Vice President for three years; Chairperson of the Chamber's Fund-raising Committee.; organizer and overseer of the Annual Memorial Day Festival and the Annual Installation Dinner & Dance; committee member of the Levittown / East Meadow Chambers of Commerce Networking Party; board member of the Island Trees School District's School to Career Advisory Board and it's fund-raising chairperson; and, member of the Levittown Kiwanis Club.
For her outstanding community involvement, Lois has received many awards including the 2001-2002 Levittown Chamber of Commerce Presidents Award; the 2002 Levittown Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award, the 2003-2004 Long Island Works Coalition Honor Roll; the 2004 Small Business Person of the Year from the Nassau Council Chambers of Commerce.
Lois has also received numerous citations from State of New York, Nassau County and Town of Hempstead officials.

The monthly Chamber Spotlight on Business is chosen by business card lottery among the Chamber members in attendance at our monthly Chamber meetings.
