A retired NC Police Inspector, he was a WWII USMC veteran, Purple Heart recipient, member of the USMC League, Sunrise Detachment, Association of Retired Police Officers and Retired Police Association. Husband of 59 years to Elizabeth (nee Pidgeon). Father of Patrick (deceased USMC Cpl.), Dennis (Peggy), Michael (Nancy), Kevin (deceased, USA, PFC), James (Dawn), Thomas (Michele), Brian (Loretta) and Maryann. Grandfather of William, Kathleen, Melissa, Emily, Rachel, Brendan, Daniel, Shannon and Matthew. Arrangements were made by the Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Interment LI National Cemetery, Pinelawn.
