The latest in a string of disturbing incidents occurring on or near school grounds in Levittown allegedly involves a man shadowing school buses and saying obscene things to girls.

At the May 29 Island Trees Board of Education meeting, Ronald Tauss was honored for 24 years of service as a member of the board of education. Tauss did not seek re-election.

Levittown PAL Sports Update
The Levittown PAL sixth-grade Tomahawks finished their season with a 7-2 win over a very determined Bethpage lacrosse team. From the start it looked like it was going to be the Tomahawks' day. After getting possession of the ball off the opening face-off by Patrick Dreiss, the Tomahawks worked the ball offensively until there first possession ended with Brendan McNamara putting in the first goal of the game off a perfect feed from Harry Sopp. Patrick Dreiss, Thomas Nuckel, and Jamie McAndrew each put in solo goals to bring the score to 4-0 ending of the first quarter. Dreiss scored one more in the second quarter after receiving a great pass from teammate Patrick Buckley.

The Levittown Swimming Association has announced the following registration dates for the 2005 swim season: Wednesday, June 15 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Levittown Hall.
