Yours Ours Mine Community Center would like to thank all the participants, dogs and their owners for coming to our second Canine Walk for Youth on April 17 at Wantagh Park. The event, was lots of fun, the dogs were beautiful and the owners cooperative and helpful. The fundraiser was successful and everyone enjoyed it tremendously.
We owe much to all the supporters and donors who helped make this event, in particular Steve Haller and The Minutemen Press, who were so generous by printing our registrations/fliers, thank you so much. Applebees whose donation was of great help, as was that of Dalton's Funeral Home, Domenico's Restaurant, and The Ground Round restaurant. Without these and the following, we could not have presented this fun event. Nassau County Department of Parks, Mary Shroeder, park manager, Mike Deery of the Town of Hempstead, Supervisor Kate Murray, Fred's Deli, Commissioner John Rottkamp of the Levittown Fire Department and Fire Chief Brian Holt, for the loan of the Public Address System. Puppies and Kittens of East Meadow; Mutts and Butts of Merrick; Petco of Levittown; and Petland Discount.
Attending, and helping make the day more fun, was Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, Bide-a-Wee of Wantagh, and the Pet Wellness Center of Plainview; and presenting demonstrations in dog obedience and agility trials, as well as photo opportunities were Bill and Pat Saunier, dog trainers extraordinaire of the Happy Canine Company.
The event could not have been successful without the many volunteers: Todd Tufo, Marc Mlotok, Drew Conway, Eileen Ashley, Cathy Tufo, Janet Engelhardt, Ruth Kupelian and Errol Kupelian. Raj Kapur who helped design and print the fliers and the registrations.
I'm certain I am forgetting someone and I apologize. To all those who helped and donated time, funds and other items, thank you, thank you, thank you.
