As a newcomer to the sport, Marissa Sciacca exhibited a high level of dedication and energy into learning and improving her skills and it showed. Our defense improved with every game. Heather Werling, Elizabeth Haughney and Sarah Haughney were pillars in a solid defensive team. Their patience and ability to learn from mistakes were key elements to their success. Andrea Fragoletti also excelled on defense as a result of her strict dedication to attending practice. Captain Lauren Moore and goalie Sherihann Juaidi were essential ingredients to not only the physical part of the game, but the mental aspect of remaining positive and focused as well. All of the girls deserve recognition for their commitment to themselves, their teammates and the newest sport at Island Trees.
