MacArthur Attendance Office Employee Retires After 36 Years
Lilith Kopman came to General Douglas MacArthur High School in 1969, where she has become synonymous with the Attendance Office. Over the course of 36 years, her familiar voice has been heard on hundreds of telephones in Levittown as she has called to check on an absence or notify a parent that a child "...was very naughty today." In her role she quickly became known - as she likes to tell it - as "everyone's grandma."

Island Trees High School Athletics
The Varsity Baseball Club defeated Great Neck North by a score of 5-4. With the Bulldogs trailing by one run in the bottom of the fifth inning, Matt Acton's RBI triple drove in Ilker Ucaner to tie the score. Pete Marchelos then singled in Acton to put Island Trees ahead for good. The win clinched a play-off berth in the Nassau County Baseball Championship Tournament. Peter Marchelos continues to swing a hot bat going 2 for 3 and a walk. Justin Muscarella also went 2 for 4. Steve Perkowski picked up his third win on the mound. He scattered nine hits over seven innings, striking out eight while walking only two batters. With another win on Thursday, the Bulldogs won the League A4 Conference championship for the first time since 2002 and secured a double elimination status in the playoffs.

Registration Information
The Island Trees Soccer Club will be hosting registration for children ages 3-18 on May 22 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Stokes Elementary School. Fees are $125 for the first child, $75 for the second and third child and the fourth child is free. These fees include fall and spring season, free uniforms, training, festival and pictures.
