  • News: Levittown, EM Contractors Charged in Home Improvement Fraud Sweep

    Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon and Nassau County Commissioner of Consumer Affairs Roger Bogsted announced that 15 individuals have been charged in connection with home improvement fraud. Two of those 15 individuals, Peter Pagoulatos (Pemo Remodeling, Levittown)and Thevenot Gourdet (a.k.a. Trevor Gordon, 2681 Caribbean Isle Boulevard, Apartment 2106, Melbourne, Florida), are charged with Grand Larceny. In addition, Pagoulatos is charged with Operating a Home Improvement Business Without a License. FULL STORY

  • News: Three Arrested in Connection With Area Burglaries

    The First Squad reported three arrests in connection with multiple burglaries that occurred in the Levittown-East Meadow area between Feb. 1-March 21. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Island Trees High School Athletics

    The boys track and field team defeated Bethpage at its quad meet. The team was led by Christian Blauvelt, who finished 1st in the high jump and triple jump and 3rd in the 200m dash. Steve Battafarano won the 3200m and anchored the 2nd place 4 x 800 relay. Alex Romero had a strong performance in the hurdle events, placing 2nd in 110 high hurdles and 3rd in the 400 m. hurdles. Justin Heisig had his best meet of the season with a 4th place finish in the high jump and a 5th place finish in the triple jump. Other scorers for the team were Dan Weinman, 5th place in the 1600 m. and Mike Palumbo, 5th place in the 110 high hurdles. All three relay teams scored in the meet as well. The 4 x 800 m. relay team finished 2nd, consisting of Steve Battafarano, Alex Romero, Dan Weinman and Justin Heisig. The 4 x 100 m. relay team finished 2nd also, consisting of John Pascal, Mike Palumbo, Brian Hudson and Chris LoFaso. The 4 x 400 m relay team finished 3rd, consisting of Steve Ascoli, Rob Howells, Ryan Eich and Billy Fischer. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Levittown Sports Update

    Starting off the season on a cold rainy Sunday didn't stop the third, fourth and fifth-grade Levittown Lady Tomahawks. The girls had an outstanding first game of the season with a huge win against Cold Spring Harbor with a score of 8-1. Awesome offense was played by Chrissy Schreiber with five goals, Courtney Boneillo with two goals, and Jenna Rothar with one goal. Also, Emily Lucas was a huge help on offense with all her ground ball pick ups and great passes! Amazing defense was played by Dana Aragona who didn't let one opponent pass her, along with Nicole Salonia, Alexis Mayes, Brianna Ferrara, and Kristina Coiro who not only helped on defense but on offense as well. Danielle Dreiss played a great first half in goal with one save, and Allison play an outstanding second half in goal with seven unbelievable saves. All the girls hustled the entire game and played absolutely awesome. FULL STORY
