Hannon: 2005-06 Legislative Budget Restores State Aid to Levittown, Island Trees Schools
Senator Kemp Hannon announced that the 2005-2006 Legislative Budget agreement provides $24.6 billion, reflecting an increase of $848 million in formula driven and other educational assistance to schools across New York State.

Island Trees High School Athletics
The Varsity Baseball team got its first win of the year by defeating New Hyde Park by the score of 10-0. The Bulldogs were led by sophomore pitcher Matt Gelormino. Gelormino pitched a complex game, 2-hitter while striking out 11 batters. Senior Bryan Marksteiner went 2 for 4, including a double and triple and 2 RBI's. Bryan also turned in the Web Gem play of the day with a diving grab in the 2nd inning. Junior Matt Acton had a huge day going 3 for 3 including 2 triples and 2 RBI's. Freshmen players David Darcy and Shaun Rutherford both added 2 hits apiece in the Bulldog victory. The team showed excellent "bounce backability" and character after losing to Plainedge previously.

MacArthur Basketball Honored
On March 9, at Uniondale Marriott, the MacArthur Boys Basketball Team received its Conference AA-II Championship Plaque. This is the first time in Levittown Basketball that a boys' program has won a Conference outright.The team also had some players receive post-season awards.
