For the fifth straight year the Generals won the Nassau County Tournament. The Generals ran away with the tournament defeating second place Uniondale by 100 points. MacArthur placed 12 wrestlers and crowned four individual champions. Mike Daly, 96 lbs., Dan Calvacca, 135 lbs., Billy Calvacca at 140 lbs. and Brian Scher, 189 lbs., were all crowned Nassau County Champions. The boys will represent Nassau County in the New York State Championships at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York. Billy also received the Outstanding Wrestler Award for the County Tournament. This prestigious award is voted by all of Nassau's coaches.

MacArthur has become the first team in Nassau County history to win five straight Nassau Tournament and Dual Meet Championships. The team's domination over the years is proof that hard work does equal immeasurable success.

Junior Mike Daly placed second in the New York State Championships this past weekend. Mike was Nassau County's only finalist and Mike had two outstanding victories to advance into the state finals where Mike lost a close match to Mike Oschmann of Section II.

Senior Brian Scher went 4 in 1 to earn a bronze 3rd place medal in the tournament. Brian's only loss was in the semi finals. Brian wrestled back to an outstanding 3rd place finish. Having two All State wrestlers in one year is quite an accomplishment.

Coach Greenblatt commented that after another championship season for MacArthur, this showing just adds a great finish to an incredible season. He added that MacArthur's seniors once again showed great leadership this season winning 10 straight Nassau County Dual Meet and Tournament championships is an incredible accomplishment which has never been done before.
