LAC is still accepting registration forms for the 2005 season starting in April. Any girls in second grade through twelfth grade who are interested should go to Northside School, Pelican Road Levittown on Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be a final night on Friday, Feb. 18 at the Island Trees Middle School, Wantagh Avenue, Levittown from 6 to 9 p.m. These are the dates of our three free softball clinics, and only registered players are allowed to participate, due to insurance. Girls only need sneakers and gloves for the clinics. For additional information call Joel Bearman at 731-1454.

Levittown Central Baseball will be holding registration on Saturday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All registrations will be at the Levittown Public Library, Room A. Levittown Central Baseball home field is located at McLaren Field on Loring Road. Call their new central hotline at 796-0571 for more information.

This baseball program is open to all boys and girls from ages 4-12. Their Girls Softball Program is open to girls from age 8-16. They are a supporter of the Island Trees /Levittown Senior League program and invite all graduating players to join this program. The following registration dates will be held at the Levittown Public Library: Thursday, Feb. 17, 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28, 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 10 a.m. to noon. If your child played last year, you need only mail a check with the child's full name and date of birth on the memo portion of the check. LSW will be hosting a Fastpitch Softball Clinic in March for all of their softball players. This free clinic will be run for their members by the Long Island Sharks. The Levittown New Yorkers Baseball team is looking for high school graduates, college students and baseball players ages 18 and over to play in the summer and fall season. The team needs a few good players to fill open spots: pitchers, catcher, third-baseman, short stop and outfielder. The team plays on Sundays at Levittown Memorial High School field (behind LMEC). Spring registration for the Nassau County Police Activity League - Levittown Unit is as follows:

Tennis, ages 7 to 15 year olds, COED, lessons on modern indoor tennis courts, professional tennis instruction. Bring racquet and sneakers (balls will be provided). Classes at Sportime, 101 Norcross Ave., Bethpage (933-8500). Ten registrants to one instructor per class. These are considered beginner classes although everyone is welcome to join. Classes on Sunday evenings starting in April and ending in June. Program runs for eight weekly one-hour sessions. Age groups 7, 8 and 9 and the other 10 and older. There are no make-ups unless we cancel a class. Fee: $80.

Track, ages 5 to 15-year-olds, COED, come run and have some fun! Starting at the end of March, practice will generally be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from approx. 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. at the Memorial Education Center. Then beginning at the end of April begins friendly competition with other NCPAL Units on Saturday mornings. Events include dashes, runs, relays and field events. Season runs through June. Shirt and shorts included. Fee: $45.

Archery, ages 8 to 18 year olds, COED, First-come-first-served. Join us and learn the fun-damentals of archery from our trained safety course instructors. Develop hand/eye coordination and concentration while you focus on striking bulls-eye targets. Equipment will be provided. Trophies, end of season tournament and shirts included. Sessions held on Mondays 6:30 or 7:30 p.m., (1 hour long) starting in late March or early April. Program runs approximately 8 weeks depending on school availability at Memorial Education Center. Fee: $80.

Registration dates are Thursday, Feb. 3; 6:30 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5; 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8; 6:30 to 8 p.m. Registrations will all take place at the Levittown PAL office located at 64 Division Ave., Levittown - Suite 101. Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only. Boys and girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. Past participants include Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Jerry Stackhouse, Gran Hill and Antawn Jamison. Players from 50 states and 17 foreign countries attended the 2004 camp. College basketball scholarships are possible for players selected to the All-American team. Camp locations include: Schenectady, NY, Prescott, AZ, Belmont, CA, Thousand Oaks, CA, Sterling, CO, Bridgeport, CT, Babson Park, FL, Atlanta, GA, Carlinville, IL, Macomb, IL, Greencastle, IN, Atchinson, KS, Baltimore, MD, Ypsilanti, MI, Hickory, NC, Bluffton, OH, Doyleston, PA, Lebanon, TN, Commerce, TX, Blacksburg, VA, Lyndonville, VT and Beloit, WI.
