Kiwanis is a service club founded in Detroit, Michigan, USA, in 1915. Purposes include the promotion of human and spiritual values, good citizenship, fellowship, and altruistic service through voluntary action. The Kiwanis motto is: "We Build." Membership is by invitation and is open to active or retired business and professional men and women, who reside, conduct their business, or have other community interests in the area of the club.

The Levittown Kiwanis Club is a very active part of the Levittown community. If you are interested in learning more about this philanthropic organization and the good works the club does come to a meeting. Guests are welcome to attend. Levittown Kiwanis meets every Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at La Focaccia Restaurant, 70 East Village Green, Levittown, NY 11756. Telephone: 796-4461. Saturday, Feb. 12 (11a.m. to 3 p.m.) - The Levittown Kiwanis Club will be co-sponsoring the Winter Festival with the Levittown Community Council in the Panther Room at Levittown Memorial. The Kiwanis Club will also be doing face painting and tattoos at the event.

Thursday, Feb. 17 (12-2 p.m.) - Annual Brotherhood/Sisterhood Luncheon for local clergy. This year's special guest speaker will be Peter Mancuso, past NYS Kiwanis Governor. The luncheon will be held at Domenico's Restaurant and will cost $24 for the non-clergy members. For more information please contact Steve Ellis at 796-0400.

Terrific Kids is a program that provides schools with a tool to reward students for special achievements that may otherwise go unnoticed. The Levittown Kiwanis Club has scheduled Terrific Kids Programs in each of the elementary and middle schools in the Levittown and Island Trees Districts for the current school year.

The following are the upcoming Terrific Kids Programs:

**Please Note: This is a new addition to the scheduled Terrific Kid programs

Approximately 500 students from the Levittown and Island Trees School Districts have been named Terrific Kids so far this year.
