I have been a Levittown resident for over 25 years. I am concerned with the way people drive through the streets of Levittown. There has been a trend in recent years that has gotten worse as time goes on. From what I understand the original plan for Levittown was to have the small streets to keep motorists from speeding. Now, they speed, and just roll through stop signs. Does anyone stop at Stop signs? If you want to see an example for this come by the intersection of Sunrise and Grey Lanes in Levittown and it will not take long to see the number of cars who just drive right through the intersection. It's even better when you get to see the driver who has gone through one on a cell phone.

Someday someone is going to be seriously hurt. I am amazed that has not happened already. I know for one I slow down at every intersection because I don't trust anyone to stop. Obviously law enforcement would help. A patrol car could sit at an intersection and they would fill their ticket books in no time. Word would get out and I bet people would be looking and stopping for awhile at that intersection. I can only hope.

Whatever happened to respect for laws? These laws were made to make driving and our roadways safer. How much time does it save by driving through a stop sign?
