Harold C. Stuven, of Williamsburg, VA, formerly of Levittown, died on Jan. 12, 2005. Husband of Arlene. Father of Patricia, Janice Beery (Stephen), Nancy, John and Marianne McDougall (Robert). Brother of William (Rose). Grandfather of Gregory and Christopher. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Levittown Chapel. Everett Hand, 67, of Morehead City, NC, died suddenly on Jan. 15, 2005 at his home. Mr. Hand was born April 23, 1937 in Brooklyn. He was the son of Blanche Hand and the late Walter Leslie Hand. Ev served two years in the Army and taught for 35 years in the public school system of Westbury.
Prior to moving to Morehead City in 2001, he was a member of the Sea Cliff Methodist Church where he was a choir member and chairman of the stewardship committee. He also prepared lunches for Thrift Shop visitors and cooked for many church suppers. Ev loved music, golf and cooking. He moved to the Morehead City area after his marriage to his wife, Jean, in 2001. Here they joined the First Presbyterian Church and its choir. He was a member of the Crystal Coast Choral Society where he also served on the board. Ev loved golf, played regularly, and had volunteered for the past eight years on the transportation committee for the Senior PGA Tour on LI and had befriended many of the players on the senior tour.
Ev will be missed by his many friends in the Morehead City and LI areas. His ready sense of humor, fun and his love of a good story were enjoyed by all.
He is survived by his wife Jean E. Hand; daughter, Alison Hand of Levittown; mother Blanche Hand of Morehead City; stepdaughters, Patty Williams of Scotia, NY, and Amy Hood of Carlisle, PA; stepson Alex Miller of Bozeman, MT; step-grandsons, Gavin and Caleb Williams; numerous cousins and many friends.
Arrangements were made by the Brooks Funeral Home, Morehead City. Memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church, Morehead City, with Pastor, The Rev. Timothy J. Havlicek officiating.
