The Island Trees Lady Dawgs Basketball team is off to a great start to their 2004-05 season. The Lady Dawgs are 7-1 overall and 2-0 in their conference. The team is led by juniors Sarah Hess and Katie Tolan who both average in double figures in scoring and rebounding. Senior Gina Brewer leads the team in assists and freshman Valerie Ahrens leads the team in steals. Sophomore Beth Hughes, freshman Angelika Paskins and eighth grader Meghan Biondolillo have ignited the defense with their energy and rebounding. Senior Megan Carlson and juniors Samantha Modik, Dominique Witteck and Lauren Mason continue to help out on the offensive end with their outside shooting. The Lady Dawgs hope to see everyone at our upcoming home games.

Three hundred pins, 12 strikes in a row, Mike Schulman is only the third student in Island Trees history to bowl a perfect 300 game in a sanctioned match. He is only a junior and he accomplished his lifelong dream of bowling a perfect game. Mike is an above-average bowler who had an outstanding day. When Mike hit his 10th strike, the house went wild. You could tell Mike's nerves were rising, because on the 11th strike, the ball bounced, but the pins went down. On the 12th strike, the whole house was silent, the ball hit the pocket, but the seven pin was still standing. As if it was in slow motion, the five pin cut across the alley and knocked out the standing seven pin - 300 pins, 12 perfect frames; it was amazing.
