The Dec. 21 meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club served as the Club's annual Awards Night for 2004, highlighted by a bunch of very special people receiving awards in recognition of their athletic accomplishments in the year that is coming to a close.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Club's Silver Medal Overall Club Championship Award to Carlos Castro, Jr. of Levittown, one of the most accomplished runners on the Long Island scene.
"Our annual Awards Night is always something very special," noted Club President Mike Polansky, "and I was thrilled to be able to present this well deserved award to Levittown's own Carlos Castro, Jr. and all our other Club champions for 2004."
