Members of the Levittown Kiwanis Club brought a special guest to Summit Lane School on Friday Dec. 17th for a visit with the school's DLC students. Santa presented each child in the program with an early Christmas gift and spent time speaking to each of the children. Kiwanis members, and Summit Lane staff served as Santa's helpers for the event.
The Levitttown Kiwanis Club will not be meeting on Thursday Dec. 23 or Dec. 30 due to the holidays.
Two speakers have been scheduled to speak at upcoming Kiwanis Club meetings on topics with which they are familiar.
Jan. 20: Judge Christopher Quinn will speak to the club about the court system.
Jan. 27: Jim Jaccard from Children of Hope/Safehaven will address the club.

Terrific Kids is a program that provides schools with a tool to reward students for special achievements that may otherwise go unnoticed. The Levittown Kiwanis Club has scheduled Terrific Kids Programs in each of the elementary and middle schools in the Levittown and Island Trees Districts for the current school year.
The following are the upcoming Terrific Kids Programs:
Wednesday 1/5 9:15 a.m. Wisdom Lane Middle School
Wednesday 1/12 9:30 a.m. Gardiners Avenue School
Wednesday 1/26 2:15 p.m. East Broadway School
So far this year, 225 students have achieved Terrific Kid status.
Thursday, Feb. 17: Annual Brotherhood/Sisterhood Luncheon for local clergy. Special guest speaker will be Peter Mancuso, past NYS Kiwanis Governor.
Sunday, April 3: Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast
