Members of the Levittown Kiwanis Club got together last Saturday morning to wrap gifts for the club's annual holiday party for the DLC children at Summit Lane School. Santa will be handing out the gifts to the children at the party which will take place this Friday.
The Levittown Kiwanis Club and Levittown Community Council held a holiday tree lighting last Saturday in front of HSBC Bank on Hempstead Turnpike. Despite some rain there were many laughs and holiday spirits.
Two speakers have been scheduled to speak at upcoming Kiwanis Club meetings on topics with which they are familiar.
On Jan. 20 Judge Christopher Quinn will speak to the club about the court system.
On Jan. 27 Jim Jaccard from Children of Hope/Safehaven will address the club.

The Levittown Kiwanis Club will continue to collect food donations in order to prepare holiday baskets this month. Donations can be made at the following locations:

Terrific Kids is a program that provides schools with a tool to reward students for special achievements that may otherwise go unnoticed. The Levittown Kiwanis Club has scheduled Terrific Kids Programs in each of the elementary and middle schools in the Levittown and Island Trees Districts for the current school year.
The following are the upcoming Terrific Kids Programs:
Wednesday 1/5 9:15 a.m. Wisdom Lane Middle School
Wednesday 1/12 9:30 a.m. Gardiners Avenue School
Wednesday 1/26 2:15 p.m. East Broadway School
So far this year, 225 students have achieved Terrific Kid status.
