Business as Usual at Levittown BOE Meeting
The Dec. 8 Levittown Board of Education meeting began with a performance by the Division Avenue High School Orchestra lead by orchestra director Mark Martuffi. The group performed The Little Fuge in G Minor by Bach, and Polladio.

Levittown Council of PTAs to Host Gang Awareness Seminar January 5
The Levittown Council of PTA's Health and Safety Task Force will be presenting a Gang Awareness Program titled "Gang Awareness Shock & Awe" on Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Levittown Memorial Education Center Auditorium, located at 150 Abbey La. in Levittown. This program is open to all parents and community members.

Island Trees Sports
The Island Trees Wrestling team opened its season with a second-place finish at the Uniondale Invitational. The team placed 11 wrestlers in the tournament, including five in the finals. The Bulldogs were led by champion Dan Eberlein at 130 lbs. Silver medalists included Kris Kellam, Joe Cusker, Bryan Henriques and Mike Cama. Cama lost a close, 3-1 decision, to #1 ranked English of Uniondale. Other place winners from the Bulldogs were freshman Tom Willoughby (fourth) and junior Joe Ambrosio (fourth). The tournament was won by #3 ranked Uniondale. The Bulldogs held the lead most of the day, but were overtaken in the final round.

Town Recognizes NYS Soccer Champions: Levittown Lightning
Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murry and Councilman Gary Hudes paid tribute recently to the Levittown Lightning Girls U-10 Soccer Club for winning the 2004 New York State Nassau County Division 1 Championship. "We are extremely proud of these young athletes," declared Murray. "Participating in youth sports programs like Levittown's soccer club provides our youth with positive experiences that will stay with them all their lives."
