Congratulations to the Girls JV and Varsity Bowling teams on their win over Massapequa. Great games from Geri Silverio with a 187, Jenny Sierra with a 187 and Amy Strickland with a 175.
The eighth grade volleyball team won its first game by defeating Merrick Avenue Middle School 3-2. Merrick came out strong, winning the first two games, but the Lady Dawgs rebounded to win the next three. A job well done goes out to all the girls.
The eighth grade basketball team lost a tough game to Woodland. The team played hard throughout the game, but fell just short at the end. Ryan Tolan, Stephan Barea and Matt Passatempo had six points apiece; Dan Schulz, Andy Kahl and John Thearle each had four points and Nick Bruzzese, Dan Nicolino and Eric Fazio each had two.
The seventh grade basketball team opened the season in East Meadow at Woodland Middle School. The boys lost in a seesaw battle by two points at the end of the game. The team refused to give up when they were down, battling back time after time to cut into the lead. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Bryan Verbitsky, who dropped in 14 points. Bryan distributed the ball well and consistently drove the lane on Woodland's defense. Anthony Ciaramitaro had 10 points and dominated the boards, grabbing rebound after rebound when he was on the floor. Anthony Wrightington also had 10 points, including six points in the final period. Also scoring for the team were Dan Faughnan, James Vesely and Rob Castillo, each getting two points.
