Registration for the 2005 Island Trees Baseball season will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20, 9 a.m. to noon.

The registrations will be held at the Island Trees Middle School located on Wantagh Avenue, just south of Hempstead Turnpike.

Boys and girls who are interested in playing must be between the ages of 5-12. A copy of the child's birth certificate is required if they are new players. For further information, contact the Island Trees Baseball League President Nick Sguigna at 735-1841.

Levittown North Baseball will be holding a registration for the 2005 season on Friday, Nov. 19, 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 20, 10 to 2 p.m. Both dates will be held at the Hunt Road facility on Hunt Road just west of Seaman's Neck Rd. (First wooden building on right in parking lot).

The program is open for children ages 4-16. LNB has props, including honking bases, pop-up hitting nets and hit sticks. Four-year-olds will only be playing with other 4-year-olds and new to baseball 5-year-olds. Also, all registered Levittown North Baseball players may try out for the Northstar Baseball Program

All dates of birth are as of July 31, 2005. Re-registration can be done by mail for previous LNB players only. Send your child's name and the appropriate amount to Levittown North Baseball, P.O. Box 593, Levittown, NY 11756-0593. The family cap is $225, however, due to the high cost of umpiring, the Senior Division is not included in the cap.

Peanut Division: 4-year-olds, first year 5-year-olds who have not played organized baseball; $65. Rookie Division: 5-year-olds who have played organized baseball and all 6-year-olds; $85. Pinto Division: All 7 to 8-year-olds. Coaches who do not pitch to the players. $95. Mustang Division: All 9 to 10-year-olds. Players who wear a personalized MLB-style uniform; $100. Bronco Division: All 11 to 12-year-olds. Graduating 12-year-olds also get a personalized baseball jacket. $100.

Levittown South/Wantagh Baseball and Softball established the Senior League for graduates of our program. LSW also offers Advanced Travel and Flag Football, which has become an instant success. They will also be adding a second concession stand, along with batting cages for the league.

LSW co-sponsored the initiative to restart the Mondello Cup, which is now the Levittown World Series. LSW will be holding a second registration on Friday, Nov. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at Wantagh Lanes in Wantagh.

Levittown Central Baseball will be holding is 2005 registrations on Saturday, Nov. 20, 10 a.m. to noon at Levittown Public Library, Room A; Tuesday, Nov. 30, 7 to 9 p.m. at American Legion Post 1711, North Jerusalem Avenue and on Saturday, Dec. 18, 10 a.m. to noon at Levittown Public Library, Room A.

The divisions are as followed: $50 4-year-olds (Instructional) - must be 4 on or before July 31, 2005. Contact Eileen O'Rourke at 579-4748 for further information. $75 T-Ball and Rookies (ages 5-7). The Levittown Athletic Club Girls Fast Pitch Softball League will be holding registration for the 2005 Season on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Levittown Public Library from 7 to 9 p.m.

All new players to the league will need a copy of their birth certificate to enroll. LAC's season begins in April 2005 and ends in June 2005; our tournament teams play during the summer and into the fall. LAC has three levels of teams. The Farm Division is for girls in 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade. The Minor Division is made up of girls in 5th, 6th and 7th grade, and the Major Division is for girls in grades 8 to 12.

LAC is an instructional league and all girls must play a minimum of three innings per game. LAC is associated with the Babe Ruth League.

A flyer will be handed out in our local schools before the registration as a reminder. LAC allows girls living in Levittown and the surrounding communities to join. They have scheduled three free clinics for all registered girls in February, further details will be handed out and mailed to all of the girls. The Panthers are looking for teams for the upcoming 2005 spring season. Anyone interested in playing or coaching a Panther team may contact the Panthers at www.LevittownPanthers.com and click on the e-mail address icon. They are looking to form teams for ages 8, 9, 10 and 13.
