At the club's Oct. 14 meeting, members were joined by Island Trees High School Key Club President Fred Koromi and Vice President Anthony Benvenuto. The young men spoke about the numerous activities that their Levittown Kiwanis-sponsored club, which currently has 87 members, have been participating in. Already this school year, the members of the Island Trees Key Club have taken part in the Light the Night Walk, the Alzheimer's Foundation Memory Walk, the Walk for Diabetes and just this past weekend, the Breast Cancer Walk.
In addition, members of the club have raised money for the family of a police officer killed in New York City. Members of the club will be going to the Island Trees elementary schools in the coming weeks to discuss Halloween safety with the children. Key Clubs, the high school branch of Kiwanis, are a wonderful reflection of this service organization. The Levittown Kiwanis Club is proud to sponsor four Key Clubs in our area high schools.

The Levittown Kiwanis Club was thrilled to induct a new member in the organization. Eileen O'Rourke, a Levittown native, Levittown Chamber of Commerce secretary and a very active member of the community, received her Kiwanis pin from her sponsor, Dr. Jacklyn Nogan. In order to become a member of Kiwanis those interested must attend three meetings and then the prospective members are voted on by the board of directors. The club is looking forward to installing more new members in the coming weeks.
Look for the Kiwanis Korner in the Levittown Tribune every week.
