'Natural Emergency Preparedness' Brochure Available

With all the news reports of the devastating effects Hurricane Charley had on Florida and being in the midst of Hurricane Season, which runs from June to November, Assemblyman David G. McDonough is offering an important informational brochure to help residents prepare in case of a natural emergency, as well as what to do during and after an emergency.

"While Long Island is blessed with beautiful coastal waters, beaches and natural beauty, we do remain exposed to the unpredictable forces of nature - potentially endangering our loved ones and property. No one can prevent natural emergencies, but we can take steps to protect our families and ourselves. Knowing how to respond to natural emergencies, including hurricanes, floods, snowstorms and fires, can prevent injuries and minimize property damage," said McDonough.

"My brochure, 'Natural Emergency Preparedness', includes information on how to prepare a disaster-supply kit and what to include, information regarding specific disasters, i.e., hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, snowstorms, etc., and information on what steps to take after a natural disaster. In addition, this brochure lists important phone numbers of agencies that can be of assistance before, after or during a natural disaster," Assemblyman McDonough stated.
