Town to Host 9-11 Sunrise Memoriam
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and the town board will host a 9-11 Sunrise Memoriam on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 a.m. at Town Park Point Lookout on Lido Boulevard in commemoration of the three-year anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Home Depot Purchases Levittown Kmart
The Levittown Kmart, one of the few Kmart establishments left in the area after a string of local closures early last year, was sold to The Home Depot, Inc. late last month. The Levittown location is one of 18 stores across the country the company agreed to sell to The Home Depot in recent months. The Levittown establishment , the last operating Kmart in Nassau County, is scheduled to close sometime in October. In addition to Levittown, other Nassau County Kmart locations included Syosset and Westbury, which closed in January of last year. Local Kmart locations still currently operating include West Babylon, Rosedale and Huntington.
