Assemblyman David McDonough is announcing that he has available, in his district office, applications for the New York State correction officer's examination. The exam is scheduled for Oct. 30, 2004 and the filing deadline for this exam is Aug. 30.
Correction officer positions are located throughout New York State in various facilities of the New York State Department of Correctional Services. The following requirements must be met at the time of appointment: you must be at least 21 years old; be a high school graduate or have a high school equivalency diploma; be a United States citizen and be a resident of New York State. Currently a correction officer trainee's salary is $28,444, which increases to $34,742 after one year.
