Congratulations to the bulldog track team on their win over Plainview. Great job to Maria Famularo and Justin Heisig, 1st in high jump; Cindy Podrasky, 2nd in 800; Tim Sullivan, 1st in shot put; Sal DeMartino, 3rd in shot; Sam Cranmer, 1st in long jump and 200; and 1st place for both relay teams. Great job.
The girls lacrosse team had another great win against Bethpage. Strong defensive efforts were contributed by Liz and Sarah Haughney, Meghan Carey, Jackie Michelsen and Kristen Burgos. The girls moved the ball nicely with great passing by Heather Mitchell, Brianne Lopez, Val Ahrens and Kristen Walsh. Angelika Paskins had her best game of the season, scoring 4 goals. Meghan Biondolillo and Victoria DallaChiara had great saves and cleared the ball to the wings. The girls continue to improve. Way to go!
Congratulations to the 8th grade softball team on their win over Wantagh. Pitcher Kristine Cunningham struck out 8 batters during 5 innings of play. Rachel Trager, Jen Abramowski, Madlyn Brandstetter and Patricia Brewer all had noteworthy hits. Notable infield plays were made by Stephanie Fabis, Angela Panebianco and Ashley Alesi. Catcher Kristin Vesely stayed strong behind the place for the whole game. The 7th grade softball team defeated Packard in a great game. Jillian McGovern started the game, striking out 9. Renee Balvin finished the game, allowing only 2 hits. Kristen O'Connor began the rally in the 4th with a hard shot to centerfield. Tara Ludewig and Lisa Barenzano each led the offense with 2 hits.
The 8th grade baseball team won their 5th game of the year by defeating Hicksville 11-4. Joe Sorisi was the star of the game. He pitched the entire game and collected 4 hits. Frank Baglivo picked up 2 h its along with Nik Butrico. Nick Marchelos his a 2-out double in the 5th to put the game away. The Bulldogs are now 5-2.
The 7th grade baseball team won another last inning, exciting game, defeating Bethpage 3-2. Nick Bruzzese pitched 6 solid innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 walk. Brad Fliller picked up the save, retiring all 3 Bethpage hitters he faced. With the score tied at 2 in the top of the 7th, Dan Cava led off with a single. Joe Muscarella walked to move him to 2nd, setting the stage for Dom D'Agostino's winning hit. Dan Nicolino's 2-out, 2-run single knocked in Anthony Mele and Matt Christoffersen. Matt Francis had 2 hits, while Matt Ruiz stole 3 bases. Matt Passatempo had a base hit and made a nice defensive play.
