Senator Kemp Hannon invites the public to join him for family fun at his 3rd Annual Family Health and Safety Fair on Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Island Trees Middle School, located at Wantagh Avenue in Levittown.

"I created the Family Health and Safety Fair to make it simpler for parents and children to learn how to nurture and protect themselves. We will have information on many ways to make your lives healthy, full and safe, and many of the exhibits will be fun as well as educational," said Hannon.

To entertain children and educate them on fire safety, a Levittown Fire Department interactive fire safety trailer will be present. A balloon clown will also be on hand to entertain the children. The event will also feature exhibits with information on first aid, home safety, child ID fingerprinting, car seat safety, blood pressure testing, safe recreation, bicycle safety, Child/Family Health Plus and child care services.

Meanwhile, interactive exhibits will be featured by the American Red Cross; LIPA; Winthrop University Hospital; MADD-LI Chapter; Yours Ours Mine Community Center; Child Care Council of Nassau; Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs; State Farm Insurance; Grandparents as Caregivers; Big Brothers/Big Sisters; Girl Scouts of Nassau County; Schneider Children's Hospital; New Island Hospital; Catholic Charities; LI Regional Poison & Drug Information Center, Automobile Club of America, Coalition on Child Abuse and Neglect; SAFE START Program; the Nassau County Police Department; Nassau Pediatric Society; Reality Check; the Nassau County Department of Health; and the Nassau County Department of Drugs & Alcohol.
